To whom it may concern,

I have finally decided precisly what I plan to do. Not only will this project be on just pitching alone but, more specifically to be about the strategy and the understanding of throwing different pitches. How the pitches do what they do and how they are used in a game situation is what I'm emphasizing. I have found a great book that was rated one of the top 50 of the 20th century. It is entitled "Ball Four" by Jim Bouton. It is an auto-biography, however the biography is only during his professional baseball career, it is more of a journal by him really. This is like these blog entries, they include his progress in the art of pitching. It includes his ideas about pitching, his understanding of the game and of course the fabled knuckleball that I plan to be very good at throwing. I believe since this is a pitching book that is from the first-person perspective thus giving more insight and progression detail so I will know when I'm becoming better and how to improve. I will read many other books and articles to go along with this.

The project will be in the form of an instructional style DVD in which I will record at my home and at the baseball parks. This DVD will include different pitches, how to mix everything up and to understand the effects and physics of each pitch. This DVD will have the pitches actually being thrown and also the strategy used in throwing each of them. I will explain when each pitch should be thrown.

My purpose in developing this skill is to be able to better myself in the ability to pitch. I plan on at least making an attempt at college baseball and possibly a career in it. I practice everyday and I strive to improve. I really am happy that I have been given a push in this for a grade. Therefore having to study up I am now really getting more.

I hope that you will accept my project idea. Allowing me to do this will help me to strive in my own developement in baseball. Thank you for the oppurtunity to create a project such as this.
